Step 1 of 5 to Unlock Your Destiny

   Posted by: Jimason    in General

Nuggets from – “For Adults Only: Keys to Unlocking Your Destiny”

Identify what is in you by looking for these three things:

1. Gift(s) or natural abilities

2. Desires of your heart

3. Personality type (www.peterursbender.com/quiz)

These three aspects of your uniqueness will work together to assist you in fulfilling your Destiny. Neither aspect should contradict the other. If it does, it is not in line with your Destiny.

The best way to determine what is in you is to ask yourself these questions: If you had millions of dollars and never needed another dime to live the rest of your life, what would you do with your life? More importantly, what do you love to do so much that you would do it FREE of charge? Once you take that first step, the remaining step will become easier. It is my desire, my Destiny to see you fulfill your Destiny and to help others to do the same. You have what it takes to succeed. Do you believe it?

My Wakeup Call

   Posted by: Jimason    in General

Nuggets from – “For Adults Only: Keys to Unlocking Your Destiny”

The process started December 29, 2008. One of my uncles died of complications related to high blood pressure and diabetes. He was a father figure to me and allowed me to live in his house from the age of four, until I moved out in my early twenties. His funeral was January 10, 2008. The stark reminder of a life lived without balance was now in front of me. He worked his entire life and did very well. He was married with two children and a single-family home. To this day, I do not know how he and my aunt did it.

Over a year prior to this day, God spoke to me about exercising when I got up in the mornings during the week. However, I would always make an excuse for not exercising. I was either too tired or not in the mood to exercise. Eventually, God stopped speaking to me about it, which is never a good thing. Then about a week or two after my uncle’s funeral, I got the results back from my routine blood work for my physical. I had high cholesterol.

I immediately, got a mental flash forward, long before the TV show came out. I saw myself having a heart attack and possibly dying before the age of fifty. At the time, I was forty-one. Then I remembered that my grandfather died from a heart attack when I was around seven years old. Seeing the cholesterol count and thinking about my grandfather and uncle, was more than enough to snap me back to reality. It was time to get my stuff together before it was too late.

Doing Right with Destiny

   Posted by: Jimason    in General

Nuggets from – “For Adults Only: Keys to Unlocking Your Destiny”

Now, before you breathe a sigh of relief from flowing in your Destiny, you must understand something very important. True strength lies within one’s moral compass. The stronger you are morally and ethically, the stronger you are as a person. Again, you can only produce what you are. Throughout history, men and women have worked hard to succeed only to lose it all from a lack of H.I.M. Unrighteous motives will always produce unrighteous fruit. Therefore, you must have H.I.M. in your heart to maintain your Destiny:

Honesty = the quality or fact of being honest; uprightness and fairness. Truthfulness, sincerity, or frankness. Freedom from deceit or fraud. – Dictonary.com

Integrity = adherence to moral and ethical principle; soundness of moral character; honesty. The state of being whole, entire, undiminished, or unimpaired. – Dictonary.com

Morality = conformity to the rules of right conduct; moral or virtuous conduct. The quality of being in accord with standards of right or good conduct (lifestyle). – Dictonary.com

Remember, birds of a feather will always flock together, because it naturally creates a support system for that particular lifestyle. This can be either good or bad, depending on what those you associate with are doing with their life. If you are striving to live a moral life, then those you associate with must have similar goals of honesty, integrity, and morality or their lifestyle can corrupt your good intentions. Not everyone will agree with what you are doing. However, you do not have to compromise your integrity to fit in. Stand your ground for doing what is right with the success that comes with fulfilling Destiny.

Your Destiny is Deeper than You Know

   Posted by: Jimason    in General

Nuggets from – “For Adults Only: Keys to Unlocking Your Destiny”

Let me show you how deep the rabbit hole really goes for your Destiny. Most people have a full or part time job. The reason they have a job is because their employer got a vision to start a company; which resulted in them being hired. In short, the employees are working hard to fulfill the employer’s dream (vision) instead of their own. The sad thing about it is that many people do not realize that the world has conditioned them to believe that this way of living is normal. You are supposed to get a good education; so you can get a good job; so you can make money; so you can buy nice things that will drastically increase your debt – keeping you a slave to that job (employer).

What will you have to show for all of this? Well, if you are “lucky” you will make it to retirement and live unhappily ever after on a fixed income – leaving a mountain of unpaid debt for your children instead of an inheritance when you die. Wow, you just have to love that. This is what we call the “American Dream.” Please. This is not what most people want for their life. However, because many have allowed fear to stop them from accomplishing their dream, they are left with the daily grind that is nothing short of a nightmare. If you allow fear to reside in your heart then you give it the authority to stop you.

When we look back over our lives, we can clearly see the experiences that cannot be changed. Our past is forever settled in our minds. However, our future is not nearly as settled because we cannot physically see it. We are left with only the dream that burns within our soul that speaks to us daily, longing to find expression. Therefore, we must internalize that dream as if it is fact. We must see it as forever settled just like our past and nothing that comes our way will change it. Only you can breathe life into your dream with the positive words you speak, and give birth to it by your actions. It must live.

Fear’s Paralyzing Affects

   Posted by: Jimason    in General

Nuggets from – “For Adults Only: Keys to Unlocking Your Destiny”

Fear is the number one thing that stops most people from pursuing their dreams and fulfilling their Destiny. You cannot do anything out of fear and expect positive results. Many people do not know they are living in fear. However, there are subtle indicators to look for to determine whether you are living by faith (confidence) of a brighter tomorrow or fear. For example, many parents send their children to private schools not because the education is better but because they believe, subconsciously that it will be a safer environment.

There is nothing wrong with private schools. However, we need to check to see what is really motivating us to send our children there versus public schools. Many will move out of the city to the suburbs because in their heart, they believe that it will be safer. However, when asked about the move they say they are going to raise a family and need the space, which may very well be true. However, is it the whole truth? Many will buy bigger cars or SUVs because in their heart they believe they will be safer, if they ever get into an accident. Although, they say it is for comfort. It is definitely not for the gas mileage.

Fear is the direct opposite and enemy to faith (confidence). You have to ask yourself, “Which one am I operating in, fear or faith?” The fruit or evidence of faith is action, moving forward in life to accomplish your dream. You cannot say you want to start a new business when you have not written a business plan. You cannot say you want to buy a house when you have not saved any money or begun looking for a house. Some love to talk a good game about what they want to do with their life, but the test of time will reveal whether they are living by faith or by fear.

Do not continue to settle for the ordinary. If you do not mix faith with your dream then it will become nothing more than a pipedream, i.e. a fantasy with no intent on becoming a reality.

Beware of Dream Killers!

   Posted by: Jimason    in General

Nuggets from – “For Adults Only: Keys to Unlocking Your Destiny”

Inevitably, you will have to deal with people who will not like or understand your dream. You must be willing to stand alone with your dream, before others will follow. Do not allow anyone to speak anything over your life that is contrary to your dream. In addition, only share your dream with those who have your best interests at heart. You will know them by how they encourage you when you tell them about your dream. If they do not, then say very little and do not allow anything they may say negatively, to discourage you from continuing the process to obtain your dream/Destiny.

Dream Killers = typically those who are the closest to you – friends and family members who tell you what you cannot or should not do. They think they are helping you but really, they are not. Either they are speaking from a lack of personal vision for their own lives, or jealousy of seeing someone do what they themselves are afraid to do. Regardless, their negative words will hinder your efforts if you let them. – James A. Jimason

Obstacle = obstructions, hindrance, impediment, something that interferes with or prevents action or progress. An obstruction is something that more or less completely blocks a passage. A hindrance keeps back by interfering and delaying, e.g. interruptions are a hindrance to one’s work. An impediment interferes with proper functioning, like a speech impediment. – Dictonary.com

Just when you think it’s safe to celebrate the change of direction for your life, something weird happens. Time marches on and you do not see much fruit from your labor. This is where faith and endurance are essential to your dream’s survival. Although you have made it out of the endless cycle of fads and trends, you still have yet to fulfill your Destiny. Until then, you will find yourself in a place of transition – a place called The Wilderness. The wilderness has a negative effect on the mind, body, and soul. It will challenge your resolve for fulfilling your Destiny.

All of a sudden, confusion bombards your mind and nothing makes sense anymore. Your dream looks a little cloudy and the future is unsure. You check the clock and only a short time has passed. Your excitement of pursuing your dream slowly begins to fade because it is taking much longer to manifest than you expected. Questions flood your mind with no answers to what you see and feel. It is as if you are walking in circles, getting nowhere.

Your sense of sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing will do you no good in the wilderness. It is only that extra sense, called faith that will give you the victory over the illusions of the wilderness. Many people have confidence in what they can see in the natural. However, life will always be subject to change. Therefore, if what you see in the natural contradicts the desires of your heart, it can have a negative effect on your resolve.

Do not allow what you can or cannot see, discourage you from fulfilling your Destiny. Things may not appear to be going the way they need to, for you to accomplish your Destiny. At times, you may become overwhelmed and feel like giving up. Hang in there and do not get comfortable with your surroundings because you are not staying.

Vision is Everything and Reality is Nothing

   Posted by: Jimason    in General

So much of what we see is subject to change and if given enough time, it will. However, what you see in your mind is more real than what you perceive with your five senses. There is nothing created by people that did not first start in someone’s mind as an idea or vision. Moving from recognizing what is in you to carrying it out requires having a vision. Your Destiny has to be clear in your mind if you are to fulfill it. If you cannot see where you want to go in life then it will be impossible to get there. You must have a vision of Destiny. Moreover, you have to make sure you picked the right vision. If you pick the wrong vision then you will pay a heavy price to accomplish that vision, versus the right one. You do not want to spend your life doing something that is not in line with your Destiny. Chances are you are already doing that.

Having a vision is crucial for a successful life. It gives your life direction and focus. It also reveals what it will take (cost) to get there. Having a vision will guide, guard and govern your life when you embrace it. Even those who fall on “hard times” will need a vision in order to move from despair to Destiny. This is why every parent should instill in their children an understanding of Destiny and purpose for their life. Moreover, a parent’s job is not finished until their child or children are mature enough to make intelligent and positive decisions, while accepting full responsibility when they do not. This does not come automatically when they turn 18. Part of my success today is due to what my parents taught me as a child.

Some believe that the answer for helping young people stay out of trouble is to create more programs. When I was growing up, we did not have recreation centers or programs to occupy our time. We used our imagination and the guidance of our parents to occupy our time. Young people do not need more programs to occupy their time. They simply need more vision. Unfortunately, most of us were not encouraged to follow our dreams or passions as children. Instead, we were told to get a job.

In addition, society has taught us to pursue money when we really should pursue our Destiny. Everything you need to succeed is already in you. It is like my daughter, who cannot read or write yet. However, the ability to do so is already in her. This is why she goes to school to learn and to bring out her natural abilities. Her mind is made to receive information and to comprehend (process) that information – enabling her to grow in her abilities. With time, she will not only learn how to read and write, but will master it.

In this natural process of learning, she will discover her own uniqueness. Throughout the years, her teachers and her mother and I will celebrate and encourage her to be her best. This is what our young people need today. They need adults in their lives who believe in them, adults who will take time to encourage and help them discover their true potential – Destiny. This is the key to their success and the future of the world. Unfortunately, the world classifies people based upon one of the following categories:

The Poor are typically those with or without a job and are barely making it financially. They work hard but have very little to show for their efforts. Life for them is a daily struggle with no end in sight.

The Middle Class are typically those with a career (professionals) and are doing okay financially. They are able to pay all their bills and live comfortably with a little money left over to save or take a vacation, every two years or so.

The Rich are typically those with a dream that employ the poor and middle class to fulfill that dream. They are doing very well financially with more than enough to meet their financial and material needs and the lives of those around them.

Which of these categories have you allowed society to label you?
